Books

Hey there. I'm Mike, and I write stories. The three selections are all available on Amazon's Kindle platform. These books reflect my eccentric brand of horror, with traditional monsters chasing ordinary folk in foreign locales. They also draw on my own experiences as an American living abroad. Mostly, they are chilling and relatable, with some humor and weirdness thrown in for fun.

Famine Tower: Vampire v. Golem

Marcin Dobraski, an American living in Poland, has run afoul of a vampiric prodigal Baron, born of hideous betrayal, who has returned to his homeland for revenge.

No mortal can destroy him, so Marcin and a tortured priest must work ancient, desperate magic to save the city. Meanwhile, Marcin’s girlfriend Aga, seduced by the charm of eternal undeath, must make a horrible decision about her own future.

The only certainty is that not all can survive. Who will be the next victim to the curse of the Famine Tower?

The MZD: A novella of Undead Horror

Jeollanam Province was a sleepy little corner of South Korea where the foreign English teachers mostly partied, traveled, and dreamed of home. Felix and Jolie are young and in love, but they just began the longest night of their lives.

Soon they're on the run from a shambling horde of undead flesh-eaters that traps them in the foreigner's bar for the night. But who or what are the infected up to, and why would they want to eat the living?

Meanwhile, a film-maker and anthropologist is holed up with a small contingent of the United States Army, and it turns out that he unwittingly may hold the key to ending the terror.

Safehouses, abandoned churches, army outposts with mad commanders – who will survive the terror of The MZD, and what awaits on the other side of the madness? Surrounded by zombies, in a country with no guns, and they don't speak the language. Problem? What problem?
